Design

While writing was my first passion, learning how to present that writing with images, colors and graphics was not only a crucial lesson I learned, but it helped me discover a love for design I didn't know I previously had.

Print Design

Presenting our stories and content in newspaper spreads included lots of late nights, coffee breaks and saving corrupted inDesign files. The result were beautifully-designed pages to show off our staff's work.

This year, I sought to experiment with different design styles for our website stories to help cater our online capabilities with different story formats and reporting archives. Explore this portion of my portfolio to see what I discovered.

Graphics

Combining stories with beautiful graphics was one of the coolest parts of being editor-in-chief of the print newspaper. It allowed me to stretch my creative thinking and develop my Illustrator and InDesign skills far beyond where they were before.
